EXECUTIVE PRESENCE
The Expert Guide to EXECUTIVE Presentations
Charisma is the tool that will reduce your public speaking anxiety as an executive, enabling you to execute precise interactions, human connections and memorability.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve helped 1000s of professionals and executives integrate charisma into their public speaking, presentations and even TED Talks! Charisma is the most powerful way to signal your communication assets in Executive Presentations. It can be learnt and if used will always add value to your paycheck, industry leadership, sales ventures and even public reputation faster than you can imagine.
Why is Charismatic Delivery Non-Negotiable for Executive Presentations?
Once an audience dynamic is involved, you, as a speaker have a duty of care- to engage, entertain & make valuable use of your listeners' time.
All performers should work on charisma and all public speakers, no matter their career path, on stage, become performers.

Why is Charisma the most Viable Tool to Add to your Executive Presentations?
Approaching your next executive presentation or committee meeting with concrete tactical charisma techniques establishes your speaking profile correctly when an audience is involved. Simply speaking as you do in regular day to day communication in front of an audience reduces your opportunity to execute precise influence, connection and memorability to the group.
Stage fright and performance anxiety affects all presenters.
If elite, professionally trained performers, actors and musicians have systems in place to manage performance anxiety and deliver remarkable appearances on stage or camera, shouldn't you too as a concientious executive?
Charisma Secrets That Boost Your Executive Presentations [EXPERT GUIDE]
What's the best system to overcome nerves before executive presentations?
Last week I got an email from a new client, I’ll keep their details confidential because we operate a discreet worldwide service… and many of my clients, if not yet household names, will be soon!
My instant reaction was - Welcome! You found the right place. And I can’t wait to meet you, but obviously my new client who’s starting their training soon, needed a clear overview about how we can build an unshakeable charismatic presentation style using the Cadenza protocol.
I then figured, I get asked this question constantly, so why not make a video for everyone so if you’re up late on youtube trying to work out how to become a charismatic presenter for your executive presentations, boardroom meetings, media appearances and more, get comfortable, you found the right video because today I’m going to share the most effective way to amplify your speaking aggregate so that you deliver memorable and influential presentations in the boardroom, in a media interview and wherever you need to showcase your unquestionable leadership in your unique industry.
All of this without:
❌ taking beta blockers to stop nerves which can really disrupt your system and which may not even work as effectively as you hope
❌ enrolling in an online DIY public speaking course that is long winded, not personalised to you
❌ being confused about how to use charisma as an executive given how important your authority and reputation are!
Up to 77% of people identify public speaking as their single greatest fear in life.
If you’re new to it, the stats mean, you’ll likely freak out!
But if you’re a professional presenter, even if nervous, your approach, your delivery and presence will be charismatic because you will have the tools to serve your audience with validated tactics that the crowd loves! You’ll use charisma!

All Household Names, at some point, are likely to have battled stage-fright.
Let’s consider this, according to the stats, 77% of these people who are now household names, probably deal with stage fright and public speaking anxiety!
And none of them are trained perfomers.
And yet, they appear seamless, memorable and charismatic onstage.
77% would be more than half of these famous personalities!
That means that nearly everyone on the screen has probably suffered with this and found the system to overcome it!
Let’s take a look at the process!
The first step to gaining charisma for your executive presentations is Performance Anxiety Management
Charismatic Executive presentations can only be achieved if a speaker manages to regulate:
- Sensory / Body Reactions
- Thought / Cognitive Based Reactions
when faced with the pressure inducing activity, environment or specific audience.
Common Speaking Pressure Reactions Presenters Face that reduce Charisma
We can group common stage reactions into 2 categories, as outlined in figure 1 below. Speakers tend to experience cross category reactions. No 2 speakers will share the same cluster of reactions to presenting anxiety.
How your Body Feels & Reacts When Presenting
Sensory/ Body Reactions to Presenting
It's easy to overlook that you use your body to speak on stage. Thus, it is not surprising that a variety of body-based reactions have the tendency to suck charismatic delivery out of the orator.
At CADENZA, according to the Cadenza Protocol, we group body based reactions under the following 4 categories, ready to strategise and help you solve them.
🚩
Voice Tone Anomalies
Croaky, breathy, strained, reduced stamina and projection concerns are common performance anxiety reactions when presenting.
🚩
Speech Cadence Impacts
Speaking occurs over time and the time on stage allocated to you to speak, as well as the precise moment you deliver your response in the boardroom, before a senior leader or during a job interview induces time based reactions that affect cadence. If you notice you start using a rapid rate, have more gaps between words, show lower emphasis or intonation variation chances are your speaking is taking on a haphazard rather than oratory or lyrical style suited to the performance context. Music eloquence triggers higher charisma ratings among listeners.
🚩
Deportment Errors
Stance asymmetry, gaze avoidance, less dynamic gait are a few features that spill through, often unknowingly, among untrained, nervous presenters.

🚩
Impaired Delivery (Theatrics)
Despite their best efforts speakers without the tools to self-regulate when faced with speaking pressure will show increased anxiety with their facial expressions as well as using rapid anxious movements resulting in transferring emotions (of fear, reluctance, hesitancy) that don't match their message purpose or intent.

How your Mind Processes & Reacts When Presenting
Thought / Cognitive Reactions to Presenting
It's easy to focus on the thoughts you experience in relation to presenting stress and as a result overlook body reactions. No doubt you're increasingly mindful of how you feel about speaking under pressure and what you're aspiring to gain if you're looking at solving it.
At CADENZA, according to the Cadenza Protocol, we group thought based reactions under the following 3 categories, ready to strategise and help you solve them.
🚩
Mind and Thought Abberrations
Typical reactions include an increase in intrusive thoughts, internal self-sabotage, self-doubt and negative bias about your abilities typically arise when faced with performance pressure.
🚩
Speaking Logic Glitches
When the mind is faced with internal discomfort, cognitive processing tends to be more laborious resulting in word retrieval, topic flow difficulties and weak structuring or storytelling.
🚩
Social Intelligence Impacts
The increased attention to surviving the pressure results typically in increased self-focus at the expense of audience interest and engagement, the result of which leads to messsage positioning that takes the form of nervous conversation rather than performance.
Charismatic Executive Presentations result from Well-managed Body & Thought Mechanisms
Effective speakers use concrete structures to manage noteworthy pressure reactions when speaking which increases the chance of charismatic delivery.
Charisma is only perceived by your audience when reactions are successfully managed.
Speaking pressure reactions are a unique feature of performing. Nerves, even among elite actors and performers are ever present.
What sets charismatic and confident presenters apart is the system they use to deliver effectively in the performance mode.
At Cadenza, we train our executive clients in charismatic presenting techniques paired with concrete performance anxiety management protocols.

Public Speaking Success - The Validated Way
Elite Performance is a time-based journey with many challenges & quests that you will achieve with strength of character, committment & sacrifice. That's why musicians, actors and all stage performers use systematic and concrete rehearsal protocols.
Elite presenters are not made in a day, performance skill is the product of experience and detailed training, but you can accelerate your ability if you follow a clear systematic approach to mastering stage presence.
At Cadenza we refer to public speaking skill using the analogy of an Odyssey, the epic journey with trials and tribulations (see figure 2).
